Nokomisag
I land in the cradled arms of a river
touched by her grace
embraced in her love
I bathe in her waters
under a full moon
praying to my grandmothers
nibi minowa giizis
for strength and guidance
for their teachings of
releasing and healing
cleansing and cycling
singing
songs
gathering
medicines
replenishing
lost strength

I especially like the first line.
wonderful...i have bathed in the mountain rivers and there is nothing like it...and the metaphor as well...nice one shot!
Beautiful...and I liked the poem too!
Tight, solid work.
the first stanza is a real treat..loved the feeling you gave me here..charming one shot..:)
Miigwech!Thank you! The first line I had to take out of another poem due to it contradicting other parts. I loved the line so I wrote a poem from it.
The other language is Ojibwe. :)
Love the imagery in this one....a brilliant one shot! :-)
SO beautiful. I love grandmother poems so much. I love the combination of English and Ojibwe. So powerful and moving. Loved every line!

Delightful, starts out especially strong. Moving imagery.
bathing in the cradled arms of a river - bathing body and soul in beautiful words with a deep meaning..strong and meaningful
The infusion of custom and dialect makes the poem seem authentic to me. Excellent One Shot & props for the bonus video
this reminded me of pilgrimage in the Holy Ganges.. beautiful eloquent wordplay! :)

Wow! this is a unique poem. I like the image of metaphoric cleansing here. No wonder the water of the river is always fresh and pure!
Love, love, love the reading. I think poetry is to be read, aloud. Thanks for sharing your beautiful and refreshing poem.
